Planning and Policy Department
Department Mandate:
- Research and Data Analysis: Conduct comprehensive research, analyze data, and identify emerging trends that inform policy decisions in alignment with the MDA's mandate This involves utilizing various research methodologies and analytical tools to gather insights that support evidence-based decision-making while ensuring that findings are communicated effectively to stakeholders
- Strategic Plan Development and Implementation: Oversee the development and implementation of the MDA's strategic plan, ensuring that it is aligned with national goals and objectives Collaborate with key stakeholders to define strategic priorities, set measurable targets, and establish a clear roadmap for achieving desired outcomes while regularly reviewing progress and making necessary adjustments
- Statistical Data Management: Manage the collection, analysis, and dissemination of statistical data relevant to the MDA's activities and sector This includes developing data collection methodologies, ensuring data integrity, and providing timely access to statistical information that supports program planning, monitoring, and evaluation efforts
- Monitoring and Evaluation Frameworks: Develop and implement robust frameworks to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of policies, programs, and projects This involves establishing key performance indicators (KPIs), conducting regular assessments, and facilitating feedback mechanisms that enable continuous improvement in policy implementation
- Reporting on Activities: Prepare regular reports on policy, planning, and statistical activities for internal and external stakeholders Ensure that reports are well-structured, informative, and tailored to meet the needs of different audiences while highlighting key findings, recommendations, and areas for further action
- Budget Management: Manage the budget allocated for the department effectively to ensure efficient use of resources This includes developing budget proposals, monitoring expenditures, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations while maximizing the impact of available resources
- Leadership and Team Direction: Provide strong leadership and direction to a diverse team of policy analysts, statisticians, and planning officers Foster a collaborative work environment that encourages professional development, innovation, and high performance while setting clear expectations and providing guidance to achieve departmental objectives
