Department Mandate:

Food and Water Labs:

  • Conducting thorough analysis of food and water samples to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Developing and implementing testing methodologies to detect contaminants, pathogens, and adulterants in food and water.
  • Evaluating the nutritional content and labeling accuracy of food products.
  • Providing consultation to food manufacturers and regulatory agencies on quality assurance and food safety measures.
  • Participating in research initiatives to enhance food safety protocols and methodologies.
 

Pharmaceutical Labs:

  • Performing comprehensive analysis of pharmaceutical products to verify potency, purity, and efficacy
  • Validating analytical methods and instrumentation for pharmaceutical testing in accordance with industry standards.
  • Conducting stability studies to assess the shelf life and storage conditions of pharmaceutical formulations.
  • Collaborating with pharmaceutical manufacturers to address quality control issues and ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Contributing to the development of new pharmaceutical formulations through research and development activities.
 

Cosmetics Labs:

  • Conducting safety assessments and efficacy testing of cosmetic products to comply with regulatory requirements
  • Evaluating the stability and compatibility of cosmetic formulations under various environmental conditions.
  • Investigating consumer complaints related to cosmetic products and recommending corrective actions.
  • Providing technical support to cosmetic manufacturers on formulation development and quality control processes.
  • Monitoring emerging trends and regulatory changes in the cosmetics industry to ensure compliance with applicable standards.
 

Microbiology Laboratory:

  • Conducting microbiological testing of various samples to detect and identify microbial contaminants.
  • Implementing quality control measures to maintain the integrity and accuracy of microbiological test results.
  • Participating in outbreak investigations and foodborne illness surveillance programs.
  • Developing and validating rapid methods for microbial detection and enumeration.
  • Collaborating with public health agencies and other stakeholders to assess and mitigate microbiological risks.
